Ficus microcarpa is a brevideciduous medium size tree. 
It can grow up to a height of 10 m with a dense, spreading crown. 
It is developing numerous aerial roots from the branches.

Stem Bark

The bark of Ficus microcarpa is smooth and light grey in colour with white lenticels. 
Ficus microcarpa produces aerial roots which descend from the crown along the trunk.

Leaf

The leaves of Ficus microcarpa are thick and smooth. 
They are elliptic-ovate to obovate in shape. 
The colour of the leaf is green, glossy on the upper side and mat on the lower side. The young leaves are purple.
The leaf margin is entire. The base of the leaf is acute to cuneate. 
The stem of Ficus microcarpa ends with a terminal leaf bud (a cap-shaped stipule which protects the shoot tip)
The white latex found at the base of the leaf is used for medicine and construction.
