Albizia odoratissima is a medium sized deciduous tree growing up to 10 m in height.
It has an extensive crown, relatively dense with drooping dark green leaves.

Stem Bark
The bark of Albizia odoratissima dark grey to dark brown in colour.
The bark is rough with horizontal warts, irregularly cracked and blaze red-pink below the cracks.
The stems are black to brown in colour.
The branches are terete in shape and show horizontal lenticels.
The branchlets are initially tawny pubescent and finally glabrous.

Leaf
The leaves of Albizia odoratissima are compound, bipinnate, with an alternate arrangement.
The leaves are 15 to 20 cm long, with a long rachis up to 20 cm.
There are 2 to 8 pairs of opposite pinnae per leaf. Each pinnae is around 5 to 15 cm long.
Each pinnae has around 6 to 15 pairs of leaflets that are oblong-elliptic in shape and the terminal ones are obovate.
The leaflets are puberulous or glabrescent. The base of the leaflet is oblique.
The leaflet margine is entire and the apex obtuse.
The leaf bears a discoid brown gland located 1 to 2 cm above its base, and an upper gland between the 2 distal pairs of pinnae.
The leaves are dark green in colour.

Flower
The flower-heads of Albizia odoratissima are globose, arranged in umbellate or terminal panicles which are around 15 cm long.
There are 10 to 15 flowers per head, each one is less than 1 cm wide.
The flowers are white-cream in colour.
The calyx tube is 5-lobed and pubescent.
Each flower has 5 petals pubescent without, many stamens, one long staminal tube and one stipitate ovary.
The flowers are fragrant.

Fruit
The fruits of Albizia odoratissima are thin leathery seedpods.
They are subsessile, compressed and flat pods.
Each pod can be up to 20 cm long and 3 cm wide.
They are strongly nerved and apically obtuse.
They are often glossy and dehiscent.
They are red-brown to dark brown in colour, turning black when they are dry.
Each pod is containing 6 to 14 seeds.

There are 6 to 14 seeds per pod.
