Habit

Leaf

The leaves of Flueggea leucopyrus grow alternately on the stem (spirally arranged).
The leaf is simple, bright green-coloured above and paler beneath. The leaf is coriaceous and glabrous on both sides.
The leaves have a 5 mm long petiole.
The leaf of Flueggea leucopyrus is 2-4 cm long and 1.5-3 cm wide. The shape of the blade is obovate, the apex is rounded, the base is cuneate and the margins are entire.
The venation of the leaf is reticulate with a prominent midrib.

Flower

The flowers of Flueggea leucopyrus are grouped in axillary clusters (few-flowered cymes).

The female flowers have 5 ovate and 0.8 mm long tepals.
The styles are 0.7 mm long, connate at the base and with bifid stigmas. The ovary is ovoid, 0.5 cm across and 2-3-celled.
