The leaves of Grewia carpinifolia grow alternately on the stem.
The leaf is simple, bright green-coloured above and paler beneath. The leaf is chartaceous and glabrous on both sides.
The leaves have a 7-8 mm long petiole.
The leaf of Grewia carpinifolia is 8-10 cm long and 4-5 cm wide. The shape of the blade is ovate to lanceolate, the apex is acuminate, the base is rounded and the margins are finely crenate.
The venation of the leaf is reticulate with 3 prominent veins.

Flower
The flowers of Grewia carpinifolia are grouped in short axillary or terminal 2-3-flowered cymes (at the upper axils of the leaves). The peduncle is 1-1.5 cm long.
The calyx is composed of 5 sepals. The sepals are oblong, recurved, 1.5 cm long and 3-3.5 mm wide. They are white-coloured and glabrous within and greenish rusty-coloured and densely tomentose outside.
The corolla is composed of 5 white petals, greenish-coloured and ciliate at the base. The petals are lanceolate and acuminate, 8 mm long and 3 mm wide.
The androecium is composed of numerous stamens. The filaments are thin and 6-8 mm long. The anthers are tiny (0.5 mm across) and globular.
The style is stout and 1 cm long with a capitate and 4-lobed stigma.
The ovary is globose, densely pubescent and 4-celled.
The buds are covered with short and rusty-coloured hairs.
The flowers are fragrant.
